Boleng Mechanical Engineering is looking for a skilled HVAC Consultant to join our Technical team in Wilro Park. Key Responsibilities
Design & Drawings
- Draft HVAC designs in line with client/project scope for sign-off.
- Produce detailed workshop drawings after design approval.
- Prepare as-built drawings upon project completion.
- Compile and submit Bill of Quantities (BoQ) to the Estimator prior to project commencement.
Project Planning & Estimation
- Define project plans based on approved designs and scope.
- Assign tasks and resources according to project requirements.
- Compile material and equipment estimates and obtain supplier quotes.
- Distribute detailed materials lists to relevant stakeholders.
Project Monitoring
- Oversee project progress, quality, and delivery against design and budget.
- Conduct site inspections and meetings to track milestones.
- Maintain job completion schedules and manage adherence to SHEQ, ISO, and industry standards.
- Provide weekly project reports, commissioning reports, and project handover documentation.
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with clients regularly to update on project status and resolve queries.
- Keep internal stakeholders informed of issues and milestones.
- Ensure client satisfaction and successful project handover.
Team Leadership
- Lead, manage, and mentor the technical team.
- Allocate project work and monitor performance and quality of work.
- Conduct regular check-ins, performance reviews, and resolve HR/IR matters.
- Identify skills gaps and implement training interventions.
- Monitor overtime costs and manage departmental resources efficiently.
Business Development & Sales
- Maintain relationships with existing clients and identify additional revenue opportunities.
- Seek and secure new clients and tenders.
- Prepare high-quality tender submissions and provide profitability analysis.
Operations & Financial Management
- Monitor project profitability and cost-to-income ratios.
- Achieve financial targets and provide monthly performance analysis.
Administration & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and ISO/SHEQ requirements.
- Maintain project documentation, working papers, and drawings.
- Review and update operating manuals, quality, and safety standards annually.
What We’re Looking For
Education
- NDip, BTech, or BDegree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Project Management certification (advantageous).
- ECSA registration.
Experience
- 5+ years as an HVAC Consultant.
- Strong experience in project planning, monitoring, and technical design.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and technical drawing.
- SHEQR and HVAC+R technical knowledge.
