We’re looking for a reliable and analytical Bookkeeper to join our Support Services team in Roodepoort. Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations
- Process daily accounting transactions and maintain subsidiary accounts.
- Control and account for daily income and expenditure.
- Maintain a balanced general ledger and complete monthly close by the 3rd of each month.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Process purchase orders, supplier invoices, and client invoices.
- Manage both the debtors and creditors books.
- Review and process employee reimbursements.
Tax, Payroll & Compliance
- Prepare and submit PAYE, UIF, SDL, VAT, provisional tax, and income tax returns.
- Administer payroll, including preparation, reconciliation, and query resolution.
- Maintain compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- File annual returns with CIPC.
- Maintain the company asset register and financial records.
Reporting & Budgeting
- Compile monthly management accounts and trial balance submissions.
- Analyse financial performance and report on variances, risks, and achievements.
- Prepare annual budgets and manage forecasts.
- Provide financial insights to support leadership decision-making.
Administration & Internal Controls
- Implement and maintain sound financial internal controls.
- Maintain financial administration and filing systems.
- Support project staff and management with administrative requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships and office supply tracking.
What We’re Looking For
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Accounting or Finance.
- Postgraduate qualification (advantageous).
Experience
- 5 years’ experience as a Senior Financial Administrator or
- 3 years’ experience as a Bookkeeper or Junior Accountant.
- Experience in a mechanical engineering or HVAC environment (advantageous).
Technical Skills
- Experience with Sage Accounting and Sage HR/Payroll.
- Advanced MS Excel and MS Office proficiency.
- Strong accounting, tax, reporting, and administrative skills.
